This apartment was photographed at five in the afternoon, when it had already gotten dark in Barcelona.

And maybe that was the best thing.

Because there are some floors that need sunlight to look good in the photos.

And others that, when evening falls and you turn on the lights, start to really show you what life is like inside.

This is the second one.

It is on Carrer de la Palma, near Paral·lel and Plaza d’Espanya.

It is a renovated apartment that retains some of those details that make a Barcelona home not seem like another one.

The first thing that catches the eye is up there.

The original Catalan vault and the wooden beams.

Then you look down at the floor and another detail that is difficult to find today appears: the old hydraulic ceramic floor, present in much of the house.

The renovation has not tried to erase the past of the apartment.

He took advantage of it.

The house has 61 m² useful, It has an open-plan living area, two double bedrooms and two bathrooms.

The living room and the kitchen form a single space.

The kitchen has been renovated, with simple lines and a bar where you can have breakfast, eat something, or chat while someone is cooking.

The living room and kitchen open onto Carrer de la Palma and receive natural light.

From the living room, you can also access the outdoor balcony.

The night area is more separated off.

There is two interior double bedrooms, Two renovated bathrooms, custom-made wardrobes and an integrated laundry area.

It also has heating and air conditioning.

The property is from 1936 and has an elevator.

But there is something that cannot be explained with meters or a list of characteristics.

The vault.

The beams.

The brick.

The old ground.

And the warm light when it was already dark.

They could have taken away all that and built another white and gray floor like so many others.

They didn't do that.

And it is appreciated.

Because this apartment has something that many don't have:

personality.

If you want to know if you can imagine living here, the best thing to do is not to read it.

It's coming to see him.
